During a phone interview with NBC, he mentioned, “it’s not going to be easy for her” but added, “I’d love to see it.” He also suggested that she “needs to get some rest.”

Trump’s remarks came on a day where it sounded like he was trying to move past old grievances. When queried about his past experiences with GOP lawmakers, he replied cautiously, stating, “What do I condone? I just didn’t agree with her philosophy,” reflecting some ambivalence.

This is not the first instance in recent days where Trump has attempted to mend fences with individuals he previously criticized. Just days ago, he had a cordial meeting with Mayor-elect Zoran Mandani, brushing off Mamdani’s prior calls labeling him a tyrant while refraining from characterizing him as a communist.

In a somewhat ironic twist, Trump had been less forgiving toward Greene just earlier that Saturday. After her surprising announcement about her resignation, he took to Truth Social to refer to her as “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown,” claiming her congressional exit was due to her “plummeting” poll numbers. He had even suggested she had “no chance of winning,” framing her resignation as “great news for the country.”

Greene, who has held office since 2021 and has been a vocal advocate for MAGA, has found herself at odds with Trump recently over a range of issues, including the Epstein file and rising prices. Despite her tumultuous relationship with Trump, there are whispers she may run for the Senate or even the governorship of Georgia, and some speculate about a potential presidential bid in 2028.
