Footage reveals Nevada stepfather yelling 'my child is dead' following the death of an 11-year-old in a road-rage incident.

The stepfather of an 11-year-old boy, who was tragically killed in a road rage incident, was visibly distraught, yelling, “My kid’s dead,” before collapsing on a Nevada highway. Newly released body camera footage from the police illustrates how the alleged shooter called Tyler Matthew Johns nonchalantly turned himself in after the shooting.

In a harrowing clip, shared by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Valente Ayala can be seen in utter disbelief as he learns that his son-in-law, Brandon Dominguez, was found dead in the back seat of their vehicle following a fiery accident on November 15.

“My child is dead,” he cried out, pointing at a nearby Chevrolet SUV. “My son!”

At around 7:30 a.m., Ayala was driving Brandon to school when he and 22-year-old Johns engaged in a tense lane-changing battle on the busy Interstate 215 in Henderson.

While Ayala was visibly panicking and shouting, Johns appeared composed, walking towards an officer, placing his hands behind his back, and asking to be taken to jail, as the footage reveals.

“I didn’t know he had a child with him,” he added, expressing a sense of regret.

The Henderson Police reported that as the two men drove beside each other, they exchanged heated words, with Johns allegedly pulling out a handgun and firing into their car.

Ayala then hit the suspect’s sedan, which caused both cars to halt in the middle of the roadway, leading to another confrontation between the two. A nearby Las Vegas police officer intervened and arrested Johns, who now faces charges including murder and discharging a firearm into a vehicle.

Brandon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dominguez’s grieving family expressed their indescribable sorrow on a GoFundMe page, which has raised nearly $38,400.

“Brandon was truly the light of our family,” they wrote. “He was a happy, loving boy with a joyful spirit. His playful nature could brighten any room.”

Johns is expected to appear in court again on December 4.
