Charlie Sheen 'Switched Off' After Noticing How Liberal 'Legacy' Media Resembles State-Controlled Media

Charlie Sheen Discusses Politics and Media Perception

Charlie Sheen recently shared his thoughts about media and politics during a conversation with Megyn Kelly. He mentioned that he “changed the channel” and observed that “legacy” media resembles national media.

When Kelly asked if he felt more at ease expressing his political views, Sheen responded, “I think so.” He reflected on how many people, including himself, draw heavily from the upbringing—politics, religion, art, and culture—that shaped their perspectives.

“Those were our early influences, and that’s all I knew growing up,” Sheen elaborated, mentioning his experience with the show Two and a Half Men. He recalled how, although he accepted certain beliefs, he ended up paying more taxes than anyone else in his family, which was an eye-opener.

Sheen explained his reason for changing the channel after Donald Trump wins the 2024 election. He wanted to see if conservatives could sway him, as he wanted to avoid the same hopeless feeling he experienced during Trump’s first term.

“I wasn’t going to go to bed every night feeling hopeless,” he stated. “I thought, okay, let’s do an experiment. I literally thought to change the channel.” He emphasized the importance of doing his own research and considering all perspectives, saying, “I’m going to listen to both sides of a damn story.”

The actor expressed that he felt he had been “hypnotized” by what he described as state media, acknowledging that legacy media could often have the same impact. He decided it was time to explore different voices and investigate further.

“What I discovered was substantial,” Sheen reflected. “It wasn’t just a moment but months of revelations that made me feel really naïve.” He candidly admitted, “I think it’s really stupid; there’s no better way to put it.”

He spoke about the things he once revered and those he despised, simply because he was told to do so. When Kelly inquired about how he felt while voting for Trump, he said, “That’s another instance of feeling stupid. I felt like I was still on the other side, and honestly, that’s a vote I want back.”
