Dr. Tony Evans Discusses His Journey and New Book

Dr. Tony Evans recently joined an interview with Pastor Jamal Bernard, the pastor of the Christian Cultural Center. In this conversation, he expressed how he feels God has brought restoration to his life. There’s a personal touch to his story; he admits that normally, he wouldn’t have transitioned this quickly. Plans are in motion for his son to take over as the senior pastor, a decision that, under different circumstances, might have taken much longer. He reflects on how these events might have been orchestrated by God, perhaps to shift his focus to other important areas.

Evans has just released a new book titled “Unleashed.” He points out that while the book was completed before his restoration, its publication was delayed until now. His ministry has long revolved around the themes of God’s kingdom and His rule—what he refers to as the Kingdom Agenda. This concept can be challenging for many to grasp. He believes that one major hurdle is how people tend to separate the sacred from the secular, a divide that limits their understanding of how God is involved in all facets of life. This separation, he suggests, has implications for how the church engages with topics like politics and economics.

As a father of four, all of whom are active in service, he attributes a lot of their upbringing to his late wife, Lois. He shares that they focused on family meals as a way to bond, teach, and disciple their children—making those moments much more than just about eating. There’s a warmth in his reflections, indicating that the family dynamics they built were deeply meaningful.

It’s clear that Dr. Evans is navigating big changes in his life while also striving to keep his family and ministry aligned with his faith-driven mission.
