Jammie Booker, the winner of the World's Strongest Woman title, has been disqualified after it was revealed she was assigned male at birth.

Controversy Surrounds World’s Strongest Woman Title

In a surprising turn of events, Jamie Booker, who was recently crowned the winner of the World’s Strongest Woman contest, had her title revoked. This decision came after she claimed that the event organizers had not informed her of her being born male.

Booker, from the U.S., faced disqualification during the Official Strongman Games World Championships held in Arlington, Texas, just days after she dominated the competition.

According to officials, the reason for her disqualification was a breach of the competition’s rules, which stipulate that participants must compete according to their biological sex at birth.

“It seems that an athlete biologically male and currently identifying as female has participated in the women’s open division,” organizers stated in a social media release to clarify the situation. They acknowledged they were unaware of this information prior to the competition and noted that they are actively investigating the matter.

“If we had known about this, or if any declaration had been made before or during the event, this athlete wouldn’t have been permitted to compete in the women’s category,” they added. This disclosure came after Andrea Thompson, the contestant who finished second, was seen reacting angrily and jumping off the podium during the “Bull Stee” contest.

Following Booker’s disqualification, the organizers mentioned that changes would be made to accommodate this issue for future events.

The officials reiterated, “We have a clear stance: participants must compete under the category of their biological sex as recorded at birth.”

They also emphasized their commitment to running inclusive events that don’t discriminate based on personal characteristics, while also ensuring fairness in categorization.

Attempts to reach Booker for comments have not been successful, and she has yet to address her disqualification or the ensuing controversy.
