Michael Youssef to Step Down as Pastor

Michael Youssef, a prominent pastor and radio minister, is preparing to leave his church in Atlanta to pursue other projects.

In a recent video update to his mission partners, Youssef shared that he plans to step down as the leader of the Apostolic Church, which he established in 1987. His son, Jonathan, will be taking over the pastoral role.

Youssef’s voice reaches audiences worldwide through his ministry, Leading the Way. He mentioned, “In the next six months, I will be handing over the baton of the Apostolic Church to my son Jonathan and working full-time at Leading the Way.” He also expressed excitement about the upcoming opportunity to travel and connect with people across the country.

Furthermore, Youssef will continue his involvement with the Awake America campaign, initially launched in 2020 as a call for spiritual revival aimed at inciting a “Third Great Awakening.” He emphasized the need for prayers from his supporters, saying, “Elizabeth and I deeply appreciate your partnership and everything you will continue to do.”

Originally from Egypt, Youssef is an author and broadcaster who studied theology in Australia before relocating to the U.S. He has been a significant evangelical figure known for his gospel-driven teachings and global outreach through his media ministry.
