This year, crowds attending the Thanksgiving parade in Gotham are spending quite a bit to enjoy the spectacle on Sixth Avenue. Some restaurant spots are fetching hundreds of dollars, while certain rooms are being rented for as much as $36,000 per night, providing a premium aerial view.
The less extravagant Jazz Room still sees seats beginning at $1,000 per person, and groups of up to twelve can share tables to witness the event.
As per event organizers, visitors can expect a “premium viewing experience” that includes top-notch audio capture and broadcast features, coupled with world-class sound engineering. It’s also a chance to enjoy live music, brunch, and a drink at a local restaurant.
The JW Marriott Essex House’s Central Park Room, also buzzing with excitement for the parade, offers what’s described as a “true New York-style” vibe, featuring a brunch buffet and unlimited cocktails. Plus, there’s an indoor broadcast for those looking for added comfort and visibility.
This venue has also sold out, but it comes equipped with a restaurant, an art gallery, and loft spaces, complete with individual window views and seating options ranging from $300 to $1,000, as listed by ThanksgivingParade.com, the event’s organizer.
Marea Restaurant may have filled its $1,000 seats, but Quality Meats at $500 and Quality Bistro at $300 still offer availability, both including meals with the ticket price.
Each of these restaurants will showcase the parade from their private outdoor areas, with Marea adding fun extras like face painting and balloon artists.
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, located in Columbus Circle, promotes private suites that afford sweeping views of the parade, with a typical stay priced at around $36,000 for the nights of November 26th and 27th, necessitating a minimum three-night reservation.
According to hotel staff, more affordable rooms sold out quickly, resulting in a surge in average nightly rates for their luxury two-bedroom suite on the 50th floor, touted as the “top signature accommodation.”
In fact, rooms with views of the parade vanished swiftly, and Suite 5000 was snagged early this week, marking the last available spot with a parade sightline, a representative noted.
However, nothing quite compares to The Mark Hotel’s staggering Thanksgiving Penthouse Package, priced at an eye-watering $250,000. This luxury experience offers a “Prime View Table” at Nougatine by Jean-Georges Restaurant right in Columbus Circle.
Those splurging on this package will not only enjoy unrivaled parade views, but also get exclusive perks like an after-hours tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, personal shopping sessions at Bergdorf Goodman, and a four-course Thanksgiving dinner, along with a glam makeover at the celebrity-favored Frederic Fekkai Salon—all within the hotel’s expansive 10,000-square-foot penthouse.
The package even boasts unique extras, like access to a private terrace for a refreshing dip and in-suite massages following Thanksgiving. The hotel’s promotional materials paint a picture of a delightful four-course feast designed by Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, served in a high-end penthouse setting.
To give back, The Mark Hotel plans to donate a part of the proceeds from these extravagant experiences to City Harvest Food Bank.
