Football coach Travis Turner removed from high school's website following child-sex accusations.

Travis Turner, a missing football coach from Virginia, has been permanently taken off his high school’s website after facing serious allegations, including multiple counts of child pornography and solicitation of a minor.

The 46-year-old was a respected figure at Union High School, where he led the Union Bears football team to a remarkable undefeated season.

However, the situation changed dramatically when it was revealed that law enforcement had issued ten warrants for his arrest linked to child sexual abuse. Soon after, the school’s website transitioned from celebrating him to completely omitting any mention of him.

Currently, there is no information about Turner on the school’s site, despite his 11-year tenure as a soccer coach and physical education teacher. Interestingly, his son, Bailey Turner, who is also part of the school, is the only family member mentioned. Notably, no varsity football head coach is listed at this time.

Turner vanished from their Appalachian home last Thursday, just as investigators were closing in. Following this disappearance, he was placed on paid leave the next day.

This week, authorities issued ten warrants, comprising five for possession of child pornography and five for using a computer to solicit a minor. A large-scale investigation involving drones and K-9s is currently ongoing in the vicinity.

The school confirmed awareness of the ongoing investigation, stating: “The individual remains on administrative leave and is not permitted to enter school grounds or have contact with students.”

Leslie Turner, Travis’s wife, has remained supportive during this turbulent time, asserting, “None of that is true. He’s a good father and a good husband,” when speaking to the press.

Turner has roots in a football family; his father, Tom Turner, also coached at Union High School and earned All-American status during his college days.

This incident follows other troubling issues at Union High School. In 2023, another teacher and coach, Timothy Lee Meador, pleaded guilty to child solicitation and is now a registered sex offender in the area.
