Trump labels Tim Walz as 'seriously challenged' regarding crime issues in Minnesota

Trump Criticizes Minnesota’s Governor on Crime and Immigration

On Thursday, President Donald Trump labeled Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as “seriously unjust,” accusing him of neglecting crime and immigration issues in Minnesota. In a detailed post on Truth Social, Trump suggested that immigrants contribute to crime and put a strain on public services nationwide, highlighting Minnesota as a significant example. He claimed that “Somali gangs roam the streets” in what he described as “a once-great state.”

He expressed, “A very happy Thanksgiving to all the great Americans and patriots who have graciously allowed our country to be divided, disrupted, dissected, murdered, beaten, robbed, and laughed at because of being ‘politically correct’ when it comes to immigration.” This seemed to be a reference to broader criticisms of immigration policies that he finds unacceptable.

Trump asserted that a considerable portion of the nation’s 53 million foreign-born residents rely on welfare, claiming they come from troubled backgrounds, including prisons and drug cartels, thus placing a financial burden on American taxpayers. He went on to say that an immigrant with a green card earning $30,000 could receive “approximately $50,000 in annual family benefits.”

He pointed to Minnesota again, stating that “hundreds of thousands of refugees from Somalia have completely taken over the state,” and criticized Governor Walz for inaction. “Somali gangs roam the streets in search of their ‘prey,’ while our great citizens are holed up in their apartments and homes, hoping to be left alone,” Trump remarked, suggesting that Walz’s inaction stems from “fear, incompetence, or both.”

Walz responded to Trump’s post on X, sharing a screenshot and quipping, “Publish the MRI results,” perhaps indicating a dismissal of Trump’s comments.

Additionally, Trump didn’t hold back on Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Del.), calling her “the worst congresswoman/woman in our country.” He criticized her attire and insinuated that she might be in the U.S. illegally due to past allegations, making sweeping statements about her home country being in disarray.

This exchange follows a recent shooting incident in Washington, D.C., which left one member of the West Virginia National Guard dead.

The White House, Governor Walz, and Rep. Omar have not yet commented on these statements.
