Calls for Immigration Halt After Shooting in D.C.
Following the tragic ambush of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C., U.S. Representative Randy Fine from Florida has urged for a complete suspension of what he terms “legal” immigration until safety and prosperity can be assured.
Fine stated, “This terrorist attack was conducted by undocumented immigrant terrorists who came to the U.S. in 2021 during the Biden administration.” This comment came in the wake of a mass shooting where one security guard is battling for his life, while the other has passed away. He further expressed anger towards the Democratic Party for allegedly allowing such individuals to enter the country.
On Thanksgiving Day, Fine elaborated, stating that “deporting all illegal aliens is just the beginning.” He emphasized the need to entirely block “legal” immigration until security is improved. Moreover, he called for the deportation of any non-citizen practicing Islamic law and the denaturalization of those who acquired citizenship through deceitful means.
He also referenced policies from former President Trump, advocating for a complete end to immigration from all developing countries. Fine believes that the situation demands the expulsion of individuals who disrupt societal peace or pose security threats, while also halting federal benefits for non-citizens.
Joseph Edlow, the Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), announced that a thorough review of green cards for foreign nationals from high-security-risk countries would take place.
The alleged shooter in the D.C. incident has been named as Rahmanullah Rakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan who was allowed entry into the U.S. under Operation Welcome Allies during the exit from Afghanistan. Reports indicate Rakanwal was previously involved with the CIA in Kandahar as part of a partner force.
