Trump Stresses Importance of Syrian Prosperity

President Donald Trump recently emphasized the significance of ensuring that “nothing” hinders Syria’s transition into a prosperous nation. His remarks came shortly after Israel conducted military operations in the country.

“The United States is quite pleased with the results of all the hard work happening in Syria. We’re doing everything within our power to support the Syrian government in its quest to build a genuinely prosperous nation,” he stated. He noted that lifting stringent sanctions has been beneficial, claiming it was appreciated by Syrian leaders and citizens alike.

Dialogue Between Israel and Syria

Trump highlighted the necessity for Israel to maintain open and constructive dialogue with Syria, pointing to President Ahmed al-Shallah’s efforts. “This is truly a momentous opportunity, one that builds on previous successes for peace in the Middle East,” he remarked.

Just last week, though, the Israeli Defense Forces reported an injury to a soldier during clashes in Syria. They detailed an operation aimed at arresting individuals affiliated with the terrorist group Jamaa Islamiyah, which encountered armed resistance from several terrorists. This resulted in injuries to some reservists who were subsequently taken for medical treatment. The operation concluded with the arrest of all suspects and the neutralization of some armed individuals.

Netanyahu’s Discussions

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Trump. During their discussions, they underscored the pressing need to disarm Hamas and demilitarize the Gaza Strip while also talking about expanding the peace agreement. According to statement from Netanyahu’s office, Trump has extended an invitation for Netanyahu to visit the White House soon.
