Kelly Stafford Steps In After Husband’s Milestone Ball is Given Away
On Sunday, Kelly Stafford jumped into action when a momentous football belonging to her husband, Matthew Stafford, was mistakenly handed over to a fan.
This incident unfolded just after the Los Angeles quarterback broke Tom Brady’s record by throwing 28 consecutive touchdown passes without an interception during the Rams’ 31-28 defeat against the Panthers. The record was set in the first quarter, and I imagine the excitement was palpable.
As if it was a scene from a movie, during the first quarter, Davante Adams scored a significant 4-yard touchdown to put the Rams ahead, but then he casually gave away the historic ball to a young fan in the stands, seemingly unaware of its importance.
Hastily, Kelly turned to her Instagram, hoping for some assistance in retrieving the precious item.
“This ball was given to this cute boy,” she posted on her IG Story.
She added, “If you know him, please contact his parents!”
Not long after, she updated her followers, sharing that her efforts had paid off.
“I found it!” she exclaimed. “Thank you, everyone.”
However, things didn’t go as smoothly for Matthew on the field. Unfortunately, he faced a rough patch right after eclipsing Brady’s record, throwing two interceptions during the game.
To top it all off, he fumbled the ball during a crucial moment, putting the Rams in jeopardy of possibly tying or taking the lead, which ultimately allowed the Panthers to secure their upset victory.
Now sitting at 9-3, the Rams find themselves sharing the best record in the NFC with both the Bears and Seahawks as they head into Week 14. Next up, they’ll be looking to bounce back against the Cardinals (3-9) on the road.
