Tennis Legend Margaret Court Speaks Out on Christian Values in Education

Tennis icon Margaret Court has openly shared her concerns regarding the diminishing presence of Christian values in schools and its implications for children. In a recent interview with a UK publication, she expressed worry over access to significant health-altering medications, like puberty blockers, which are being offered to children and teenagers exploring their gender identity.

“Christian values are being stripped from schools,” Court remarked. “Some kids can’t even tell if they’re a boy or a girl.” Reflecting on her own childhood, she mentioned being quite tomboyish, excelling in sports like football and cricket against boys, yet still recognizing her identity in relation to her brothers.

She posed poignant questions about the current practices surrounding gender transition: “Are we really considering hormone replacement therapy for children before they even hit puberty? It feels like they’re getting trapped in their own bodies, and there’s no turning back. We wouldn’t let them drive until they’re 17. So why is this different?” Her emotional response highlighted her deep concern for young people’s well-being.

Regarded as one of the greatest female tennis players in history, Court holds a record 24 Grand Slam singles titles, which remains unmatched. Her accomplishments also include an impressive total of 64 major titles.

Court has faced scrutiny over her perspectives on same-sex marriage and related issues. While she clarified that she has no animosity towards LGBTQ+ individuals, she cited her beliefs as grounded in biblical principles, stating, “As a minister, I was simply advocating for certain values. The Bible, for me, says that a man will leave his parents and join his wife.”

Despite the backlash, she maintains that her ultimate goal is to reach out and help those around her, emphasizing the significance of inner peace and making positive changes in people’s lives.
