Amy Schumer Discusses Marriage Amid Breakup Rumors
Amy Schumer is finally addressing her marriage to Chris Fischer, amid swirling rumors about their relationship status. Recently, there was speculation about a possible breakup, particularly after Schumer was seen without her wedding ring in some Instagram posts showcasing her weight loss journey.
In an Instagram update, Schumer, 44, sought to clarify the gossip. She stated, “I never wear jewelry.” She and Fischer, 45, appeared together in a video filmed by their 6-year-old son, Gene, giving a glimpse into their home life.
Schumer reassured followers that any challenges they face aren’t linked to her weight loss or autism, saying, “Whatever happens with Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism… Hopefully, we can get through it… He’s the best.” She also expressed willingness to discuss changes in her appearance, especially related to menopause.
Additionally, Schumer responded to criticism regarding her significant weight loss. “I didn’t lose 30 pounds; I lost 50 pounds. I think it’s for fun and temporary, not to look hot,” she noted. She explained the weight loss was necessary due to a serious health issue she faced that had repercussions on her physical appearance.
It’s believed she is referring to her experience with Cushing’s syndrome, a hormonal disorder that can lead to notable weight gain and other symptoms. “I’m sorry if I feel bad for losing weight. I’ve had plastic surgery for years and use Munjaro,” she wrote, alongside a caption inviting questions from her followers.
The couple has been at the center of breakup rumors recently. According to a source, they are “privately working through the usual issues that couples in long-term marriages deal with.” There seems to be a commitment to the relationship, as both take their marriage seriously.
Over the weekend, Schumer posted a cheerful photo of herself in a bright yellow dress while playfully noting her son wouldn’t sleep, further hinting at the focused dynamic between her and Fischer. Interestingly, she has also deleted many of her pre-weight loss photos from social media, including ones that featured her husband.
Since their wedding in February 2018 and the arrival of their son in May 2019, Schumer has shared her thoughts on Fischer’s autism diagnosis, emphasizing its positive impact on their relationship. She has referred to him as “the best partner ever,” noting that understanding his diagnosis has provided them with essential tools for their journey together.
