Trump grants clemency to Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar in bribery case

Trump Announces Pardon for Henry Cuellar

In a striking move, President Trump revealed on Wednesday his decision to pardon Texas Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar, who was dealing with federal bribery charges.

Cuellar, known for his criticism of former President Joe Biden’s border strategies, had been indicted last year for allegedly taking $600,000 from the national oil company of Azerbaijan and a Mexican bank in return for his official actions.

On Truth Social, Trump stated, “For years, the Biden administration has weaponized the justice system against political opponents and those who disagree with them.”

The indictment against Cuellar was significant, as it claimed he accepted substantial sums from foreign entities, something that raised eyebrows and brought scrutiny to his political actions.

Trump further elaborated, describing the situation as a blatant example of how the current administration used law enforcement to target members of its own party. He pointed to Cuellar’s outspoken stance against open borders and referred to the actions against him as un-American.

In his post, Trump expressed strong sentiments: “Sleepy Joe went after a congressman, and even the congressman’s wonderful wife, Imelda, just for telling the truth. This is un-American.” He strongly criticized the Radical Left Democrats as threats to democracy.

Concluding his message, Trump stated that this pardon was necessary, declaring it “complete and unconditional.” He seemed to indicate a personal connection, saying, “Henry, I don’t know about you, but sleep well tonight – your nightmare is finally over!”
