Duchess Kate Dazzles at State Event

Duchess Kate, the Princess of Wales, made quite a statement at Windsor Castle on Wednesday. She sported the largest tiara she’s ever worn during the glitzy event honoring German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s visit to the UK.

Alongside her was her husband Prince William, as well as King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The princess chose to wear Queen Victoria’s oriental circlet tiara, which she paired with a blue Jenny Packham dress and earrings that once belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth. This was her first time showcasing such an elegant combination.

She completed her look with a Royal Order of Merit and a Royal Victorian Order sash and star, not to mention a sleek black clutch.

This striking tiara is actually the fifth one Duchess Kate has worn. It was crafted for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1853 and is adorned with an impressive 2,600 diamonds. Previous wearers include the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth.

Kate first donned a tiara on her wedding day to Prince William in 2011, where she wore Cartier’s Halo Tiara while making her way down the aisle.

Earlier this past July, she sported Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara during a state visit to France and wore it again during meetings with President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in September. Additionally, she often wears the Lotus Flower Tiara and Strathmore Rose Tiara.

As her hair cascaded around her shoulders, it seemed lighter than ever. In recent months, Middleton has opted for a brighter look. During the Royal Variety Performance last month, a conversation with actress Sue Pollard led to compliments about her lighter hair color.

Pollard reportedly said, “I like your hair. It looks so light,” to which Kate responded, “It used to be brown, but the sunlight has made it brighter.”

Interestingly, just two days after her appearance at the Natural History Museum, her hair appeared darker when she joined the Women’s Rugby World Cup. It was as if she had decided to revert to her brunette style.
