Billy Ray Cyrus has expressed a heartfelt message to his daughter Miley, who recently got engaged to Max Morando.
On Wednesday, the 64-year-old musician shared three photos on Instagram, one featuring himself, Miley, and Dolly Parton, along with two snapshots of the couple, Miley and drummer Max.
Billy Ray wrote, “No wonder you turned out so special… you have the greatest godmother in the world!!!” referring to Dolly Parton. He added how happy he is that Miley and Max met, concluding with, “Congratulations! So happy to see you both so happy!!! Love you, dad ❤️.”
Miley and Max started dating in 2021, and engagement rumors began circulating on Monday night.
The couple made an appearance at the premiere of *Avatar: Fire and Ash* in Los Angeles, where Miley showcased a sparkling diamond ring.
Earlier this month, Cyrus was seen sporting her new ring for the first time, which was confirmed by jewelry designer Jackie Aish’s agency as a custom-made cushion cut on a 14K yellow gold band.
During the premiere, Miley talked about writing a song for her father titled “Secrets,” collaborating with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood. She mentioned, “The song will outlive us all,” reflecting on how music can contribute to someone’s legacy.
Miley noted that her dad was honored by the song, emphasizing the importance of having someone inspire you.
In addition to Miley, Billy Ray has other children: Brandi Cyrus (37), Trace Cyrus (35), Blazon Cyrus (31), and Noah Cyrus (24) from his previous marriage to Tish Cyrus, as well as Christopher Cyrus (32) with ex Kristin Lackey.
“I’ve gone from being a little girl playing his songs to sharing them with the world,” Miley remarked.
In June, Miley discussed how “Secrets” was written after a brief family conflict, expressing her wish to be a safe space for open conversations about difficult subjects.
She reflected on the tensions in the family during the divorce from Tish, feeling torn but ultimately wanting to rebuild the relationship with her father.
After her separation from Billy Ray, Tish married Australian actor Dominic Purcell in 2023, while Billy Ray has been seeing Elizabeth Hurley since April.
