Trump Backs Trevor Neals for Texas Congressional Race
President Donald Trump has expressed his “full and complete support” for Trevor Neals as he vies for Texas’ 22nd Congressional District seat, currently held by his twin brother, Congressman Troy Neals.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared, “I am honored to endorse MAGA warrior Trevor Neals, who is running to represent the great people of Texas’ 22nd Congressional District.” He emphasized the Neals family’s commitment to the Make America Great Again initiative.
Trump highlighted Trevor’s background, noting his experience as a former Fort Bend County constable and a retired U.S. Army colonel. “He’s a strong supporter of our law enforcement, military, and veterans. He understands the importance of maintaining law and order,” the President said.
Regarding Trevor’s potential policies, Trump mentioned that if elected, he would prioritize securing the border, tackling immigration crime, reducing taxes and regulations, and defending the Second Amendment.
Troy Neals to Retire, Supporting His Brother’s Campaign
Troy Neals, who has served in Congress and is a close ally to Trump, announced his decision not to seek re-election. This revelation, especially considering the strong connection between the twins, has added another layer of interest to Trevor’s campaign.
In his statement, Trevor expressed his gratitude for Trump’s endorsement, stating he was “very honored” and would actively support the President’s goals in Congress. He expressed determination to fight alongside Trump to enhance safety and affordability for Americans in his district.
Troy Neals shared the reasons behind his retirement recently, reflecting on over 30 years in law enforcement and six years in Congress. He mentioned that after discussing it with his family during Thanksgiving, he felt that returning home was the best decision.
Troy also made sure to communicate his plans to Trump personally, reaffirming the strong relationship between them. Meanwhile, Trevor expects to take on the role of Congressmember for Texas’ 22nd District as he campaigns.
In addition to supporting Trevor, Trump has backed several other Texas Republicans for re-election, including John Carter, Randy Weber, Michael Cloud, Nathaniel Moran, and Craig Goldman.
