New Episode of “Saints” Highlights Carlo Acutis

The season finale of “Saints,” a series directed by Martin Scorsese, brings attention to Carlo Acutis, referred to as “God’s influencer” for his innovative approach to sharing his faith online. This episode is set to air exclusively on Fox Nation on December 7th.

Carlo, who passed away from leukemia at just 15 years old in 2006, was known as the “Saint of Influence.” He created a website that documented Eucharistic miracles and used social media as a tool for evangelism.

In an April interview, Carlo’s mother, Antonia Salzano, shared her background, noting that she wasn’t raised in a religious environment and felt distanced from the Catholic Church.

It was when Carlo was five that a priest revealed to Antonia that her son had a unique purpose. She recounts attending Mass daily with Carlo, who developed a deep interest in theology. After his passing, Antonia claims to have dreamt that Carlo told her he would one day be canonized.

This dream came to fruition on September 7, 2025, when Carlo was officially canonized. Interestingly, he also appeared to Antonia several years after his death.

Reflecting on the years following Carlo’s death, Antonia mentioned, “I was 39 and began to consider having more children. I thought, ‘Maybe I can try, right?’ but it didn’t work out.” Adopting a child was challenging, leading to moments of lost hope. Then, after another dream, Carlo indicated she would become a mother again. To her surprise, she became pregnant shortly after, and her twins were born on the anniversary of Carlo’s death.

“Saints,” as presented by Scorsese, chronicles influential figures in Christianity, starting with St. Patrick and culminating with Carlo’s modern accounts of miracles.

Before the second season premiered, Fox Nation and Scorsese held a special event in Manhattan, featuring the Carlo episode. Francesca Scorsese, Martin’s daughter, directed the finale and hinted that more episodes are on the way for next Easter.

In an earlier segment, Francesca reflected on Carlo’s legacy, stating, “He utilized social media, a platform often deemed dark, as a means to spread positivity and inspiration.”
