Florida Guardian Arrested Following Teen’s Gruesome Murder

The legal guardian of one of the Florida teens charged in the horrific murder of 14-year-old Danica Troy was arrested on drug-related offenses just hours after the crime. Troy was reportedly lured into the woods, executed, and then set on fire.

Jana Williams, 36, had been looking after teenage suspect Gabriel Williams, 16, “for some time” following her mother’s passing. She was taken into custody on December 1 for violating probation and possessing illegal drugs, according to court records.

Authorities are also investigating if Gabriel might have stolen his aunt’s handgun, which may have been used in Danica’s murder.

Earlier this year, in April, Williams faced arrest for possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She is currently on probation and has a history of various charges, including traffic violations and theft, dating back to October 2023.

New allegations filed by the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office on December 1 include a felony probation violation, a felony drug possession charge, and a couple of misdemeanor counts. She remains in custody without bond.

A Facebook picture from February 2022 features Williams, her husband, and her nephew Gabriel at Universal Studios Florida. In the caption, her husband expressed disbelief at their decade together, stating, “10 years! I can’t believe you put up with me! I love you!”

Both Gabriel and another 14-year-old, Kimari Blevins, face charges of first-degree premeditated murder for allegedly tricking Danica into the woods in Pace and fatally shooting her before disposing of her remains.

Ashley Troy, Danica’s mother, revealed to the Post that the boys pretended that Gabriel had romantic feelings for Danica, successfully convincing her to accompany them into the woods. “The question remains as to why. She just wanted to be in love,” shared a heartbroken Ashley.

The teenage suspects are currently being detained at a juvenile facility without bond. A request has been made to the State Attorney’s Office for Florida’s First Judicial Circuit to evaluate if the suspects could be tried as adults or if their parents might also face charges, but there has been no response yet.
