Sydney Sweeney Addresses Surgery Rumors
Sydney Sweeney is setting the record straight regarding the rumors that she had a knife incident. In a recent chat with her “The Housemaid” co-star Amanda Seyfried, Sweeney, who is 28, tackled speculation about plastic surgery.
When Seyfried asked if there were any beauty rumors she’d like to dismiss, Sweeney responded, “Let’s debunk all the rumors.” She emphasized her fear of needles, saying, “Honestly, I’ve never undergone any work. You can’t compare a photo of me at 12 to me at 26 with makeup and lighting. Of course, I look different!”
During the interview, Seyfried reassured Sweeney that she looked great as is and noted that cosmetic procedures might “really kick in as you get older,” jokingly offering to help her out in the future.
Sweeney added a lighthearted twist, mentioning that if she had been stabbed, “my face would have been flattened.” She explained that one eyelid opens slightly more than the other due to a wakeboarding accident in her youth, which resulted in 19 stitches. “So, I think my eyes have a different draw than others,” she said, which left Seyfried a bit confused.
The two actresses also reminisced about their biggest on-screen transformations, with Sweeney stating, “I really changed for ‘Christie.’”
Sweeney portrays Christy Martin, a real-life boxer, in her latest film. The project follows Martin’s journey through professional boxing while dealing with an abusive relationship and exploring her identity. “It took a couple of months to train and gain weight and I had to maintain that during filming,” Sweeney noted. She described how she used various wigs and contact lenses to represent different time periods for the character.
The movie, based on Frieda McFadden’s novel, will premiere in theaters on December 19th. The plot revolves around a young woman who becomes a housekeeper for a wealthy family and slowly discovers deeper, unsettling truths.
Sweeney also shared her affinity for psychological thrillers. “The characters in these stories are always intriguing,” she mentioned, explaining her attraction to the role. “It’s fascinating when the audience isn’t sure whether to trust the character, giving actors a unique challenge.”
