Stunning video shows a plane hitting a car on a Florida highway, hurting the driver.

In a startling incident captured on video, a plane was seen crashing into a vehicle on a Florida interstate, resulting in injuries to the driver.

The collision occurred between a “fixed-wing, multi-engine aircraft” and a 2023 Toyota Camry in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Cocoa, around 5:45 p.m., as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol on Monday.

Dashcam footage reveals the plane descending rapidly onto the busy road during rush hour, directly hitting the car while attempting an emergency landing.

The aircraft struck the Camry, bounced off, and subsequently crashed slightly to the left, generating sparks, as seen in the video taken from a vehicle directly behind the Camry.

The driver of the Camry, a 57-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital, but remarkably sustained only minor injuries, according to officials.

The pilot, a 27-year-old man from Orlando, and his passenger, also 27, from Temple Terrace, were unharmed in the unusual crash, as stated by authorities. Their identities have not been disclosed yet.

Witness Jim Coffey described the moment: “We just saw this plane fall out of the sky,” he recounted to Spectrum News 13.

Coffey noted that the aircraft nearly struck his own vehicle seconds before it hit the other car.

“I noticed the plane was right there, and I thought, ‘I want it to land next to me,'” said Peter Coffey, Jim’s son, who also witnessed the incident.

He added, “I thought maybe it would aim around and not hit the car, but to my surprise, the wheel lightly hit the back of the vehicle.”

“Luckily the car didn’t roll; it just crumpled and tipped onto its side,” Jim Coffey remarked.

Images taken after the accident showed a damaged trunk on the Camry and a plane with its nose and wheels appearing to have been broken off.

The Federal Aviation Administration will oversee the investigation into the emergency landing, while the Florida Highway Patrol will look into the crash itself, according to authorities.

The FAA had not yet replied to requests for comment.
