Stallone Praises Vance as Key Figure in Political Movement
Golden Globe-winning actor Sylvester Stallone recently expressed strong support for Vice President J.D. Vance in an interview, describing the former Marine and author as an influential leader for the political direction initiated by President Donald Trump.
Stallone spoke at the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors reception, where he and others were recognized for their contributions to American arts and culture, an event attended by President Trump. When asked if Vance was suitable to continue Trump’s political movement, Stallone confidently responded, “Yeah, definitely.”
Stallone, known for his role in Rocky, referred to Vance as “an elegant person.” Reflecting on their encounter, he mentioned how generous Vance was to him and his family, which, he noted, was unexpected. “There’s something special when you look a man in the eye,” Stallone added, emphasizing that he felt Vance was “authentic” and shared consistent beliefs. He pointed to Vance’s memoir, Hillbilly Elegy, to illustrate Vance’s humble beginnings.
Stallone’s admiration for Vance comes at a time when there’s increasing national focus on him as a significant figure in the Republican Party’s future. In a recent New Hampshire poll, Vance emerged as a front-runner for the 2028 election, enjoying 57 percent support among self-identified Republicans.
President Trump has been vocal about his backing for Vance, suggesting in a recent Cabinet meeting that both Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio might make strong candidates for the next Republican presidential nomination. Trump described this potential duo as “unstoppable” and expressed hope that their efforts could “move forward.” He previously mentioned the idea of a 2028 Vance-Rubio ticket during a flight to Japan, praising the leadership both men exhibited.
Elon Musk, reportedly working on mending relations with Trump, has outlined a potential 12-year trajectory for the MAGA movement, starting with Trump’s current term and extending through a possible second term for Vance.
Earlier, Stallone referred to Trump as the “second George Washington” in a speech at Mar-a-Lago and has maintained a close relationship with him. He was appointed as one of three special envoys this year, tasked with revitalizing Hollywood’s Golden Age alongside Jon Voight and Mel Gibson, aiming to rejuvenate the US entertainment industry amid perceived cultural and financial declines.
