Kyle Rittenhouse’s Surprise Return to Social Media

Kyle Rittenhouse, the figure who drew significant media attention after being acquitted in August 2020 for a shooting incident during riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, resurfaced on social media on Wednesday to share some personal news—he’s gotten married.

“I’m back on social media, back in the fight, and here to stay,” the 22-year-old posted on X, accompanied by a couple of pictures featuring him and his new spouse Bella. One of the images even shows her holding an AR-15.

“Just a quick update: six months ago, I made the best decision of my life and married my best friend. @BellRittenhouse, I couldn’t be happier. I love you, beautiful,” he added.

Rittenhouse had previously been acquitted of multiple charges, including murder, stemming from the deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, as well as the injury of Gaige Grosskreutz. These events occurred on August 25, 2020, during a time of civil unrest following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man who was left paralyzed.

During those protests, Rittenhouse, then 17, carried a semi-automatic rifle and a medical kit, asserting he was there to protect local businesses. His attorney successfully argued that he acted in self-defense during confrontations with the three men involved.

Since his trial, Rittenhouse has positioned himself as a strong voice against gun control measures and has spoken out against “red flag” laws that allow authorities to temporarily remove firearms from individuals deemed a threat to themselves or others.

“I support the Second Amendment because, without it, I might not be here today,” he expressed in a later post. Reflecting on the past, he recounted being attacked and fearing for his life in 2020. “I am not a hero. I had no choice but to protect my life. The jury acknowledged that fundamental fact, and that’s why I’m not in prison today.” He urged others to join him in protecting Second Amendment rights.
