Princess Sofia’s Connection to Jeffrey Epstein Confirmed
Sweden’s Royal Court has announced that Princess Sofia had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein on multiple occasions, following the emergence of emails tying her to the convicted sex offender and the royal family.
Details shared via Swedish media outlet Dagens Nyheter reveal that Sofia, a former model and reality TV star, first met Epstein in 2005 through Barbro Embom, a businessman and her mentor. The Royal Court, in a statement to Fox News Digital, responded to rising speculation about the nature of Sofia’s interactions with Epstein.
“Media reports regarding Princess Sofia have sparked questions about her potential relationship with Jeffrey Epstein,” a spokesperson for the Royal Court stated. Interestingly, it was pointed out that, back then, Sofia was in her twenties and had limited encounters with Epstein. She reportedly recalled meeting him several times around 20 years ago, but emphasized that their interactions were solely in social contexts, like restaurants and movie premieres.
The spokesperson commented on the considerable media interest surrounding this matter and highlighted that not everyone can remember every individual they’ve met over the years. They reassured the public that while the princess does remember some meetings with Epstein, it doesn’t imply a deeper connection.
There are also rebuttals to claims suggesting that she received acting lessons or visa assistance from Epstein—assertions the Royal Court categorically denies. “These meetings were purely social,” the statement reiterated. Furthermore, it was confirmed that Sofia has not been in contact with Epstein in the last two decades.
In an email from December 2005, Embom introduced Sofia as “an aspiring actress who just arrived in New York” and suggested a meeting with Epstein, to which Epstein responded, expressing willingness to send her a ticket to visit him in the Caribbean. Notably, however, Sofia did not accept this invitation.
The Royal Court explained that Sofia was introduced to Epstein multiple times around 2005, yet she declined any invitation to Epstein’s Caribbean property. With the spotlight now on this part of her past, Sofia chose to skip the royal family’s annual Nobel Prize ceremony shortly after the news broke, while her husband, Prince Carl Philip, attended with other family members.
While Epstein’s history is dark—he pleaded guilty to charges related to prostitution involving a minor in 2008 and was charged with federal sex trafficking of minors in 2019, before dying in custody—it’s important to note that Sofia was trying to establish her career during that time, and consequently may have been unaware of his illegal activities.
“Her association with Epstein, simply due to introductions made during her early years, does not imply any complicity or awareness of his future crimes,” observed royal commentator Amanda Matta. She pointed out that the royal family of Sweden tends to handle situations like these differently than their British counterparts, favoring transparency and damage control. Matta believes that unless more evidence surfaces indicating wrongdoing, Sofia will likely escape serious repercussions from this revelation.
As for her past as a model and reality TV star, it has drawn mixed reactions over the years. Initially, she faced media scrutiny, but her marriage to Prince Carl Philip in 2015 eventually brought a change in public perception as she became more accepted within royal circles. Still, the emergence of this past connection has reignited discussions about her journey to becoming a member of the Swedish royal family.
Ultimately, Princess Sofia continues her work through charitable efforts aimed at combating online bullying, alongside her husband, as they move forward from this incident in their lives.
