Sol Luka Faces Bayley in Historic Match

This weekend, Sol Luka will step into the ring for a unique opportunity, competing against WWE trailblazer Bayley during Saturday Night’s Main Event.

This match is especially noteworthy as it’s happening alongside John Cena’s final match in WWE. Cena is set to face Gunther, who clinched the right to challenge him by winning the Last Time Is Now tournament.

Luka, who mainly appears on the NXT brand, expressed her excitement in a recent chat, noting how thrilled she is to face someone with Bayley’s experience. “I’m really looking forward to learning from her,” Luka shared. “It’s a chance to be in a great environment and just give it my all while having fun.” 

Bayley is a key figure in WWE, recognized as one of the first female wrestlers to make a mark in the main roster during the Women’s Revolution. She gained immense popularity before turning heel and joining the Damage CTRL faction. Currently, she is teaming up with Lyra Valkyria, both aiming to make an impact in the tag team scene. Bayley brings an impressive resume as a four-time WWE Women’s Champion and a two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Luka complimented Bayley as a supportive figure for up-and-coming wrestlers. “I’ve seen her a few times at the Performance Center,” she recalled. “When I was just starting out, she’d jump into classes and wrestle alongside us. She’s always been welcoming and a fantastic role model.”

For Luka, this match marks a significant milestone. “It’s a major honor to showcase my skills on such a big platform,” she remarked. “I’ve pushed myself a lot this past year, which is kind of a big deal for someone like me, who tends to be more reserved.” She continued, “I’m really proud to be here, part of this history.”

Reflecting on the past year, Luka highlighted her achievements, mentioning her roles as a double champion and her participation in Cena’s farewell event. “It’s been a fantastic year,” she added with enthusiasm.

The event will take place in Washington, DC at 8 pm ET and will be available for streaming on Peacock.
