Sutton Stracke Navigates Relationships in Season 15 of RHOBH
In her fifth season as a Diamond Holder, Sutton Stracke is making strides in building stronger bonds with her fellow cast members. After her close friend Garcelle Beauvais left the show and distanced herself from the group, Stracke appears to be focused on creating new friendships. She feels her new, calmer approach has aided in this endeavor. However, she was taken aback by some comments made about her during the season 15 premiere.
In a conversation featuring Erika Jayne and Bozoma St. John, Jayne’s remarks about Stracke’s body were particularly cutting, comparing her figure to a “box” instead of calling her “slim.”
“That really stung,” Stracke shared in a recent Zoom chat with a media outlet. When asked whether she had discussed Jayne’s comments since the episode aired, she mentioned she hadn’t yet spoken to her and felt uncertain about initiating the conversation, as they were still mending their friendship at the time. Though she believes Jayne’s comment wasn’t appropriate, Stracke hopes their relationship will improve as the season unfolds.
“I really wish she hadn’t said that,” Stracke reflected. “I’ve always liked Erika when we weren’t in conflict. She’s quite intelligent and resourceful. People don’t always see that side of her.”
During the discussion, Stracke also touched on the backlash she faced after Beauvais’ exit from the show, details about her disagreement with Jennifer Tilly in this season, and whether she is thinking about going back to her maiden name given her annulled marriage. An interview with her showcased some candid reflections.
She expressed happiness about her mother, Reba, appearing in the premiere, especially since it coincided with her son’s graduation. “It was great timing. She’s 83 now, and visits are rare, so it was extra special,” she shared, adding that her mother is more focused on everyday life than her sudden public exposure.
When prompted about some unresolved matters from the past, Stracke confirmed that changes in her life weren’t tied to financial issues but rather personal choices. “It was simply a time for change,” she explained, emphasizing that it was a mutual decision to move forward.
Regarding Beauvais’ departure, Stracke noted that it was confusing for all, wishing she could have addressed some of the concerns Garcelle had directly. “It would have been good if she had reached out to me,” she said.
Reflecting on her marriage, Stracke acknowledged her impending name change following its annulment, suggesting that moving on is essential for her growth.
As the conversation shifted to Erica’s comments about her ex-husband, Stracke admitted to being taken aback. “Hearing that was a shock,” she commented, expressing a mix of empathy and disbelief at the situation. She hopes to strengthen ties with Jayne, despite the recent hurtful remarks.
Finally, while discussing her evolving relationship with Dorit, Stracke explained that she aims to understand where the other women are coming from. “I think the audience can expect some surprises this season,” she hinted, addressing potential dynamics between her and the rest of the group.
In the spirit of camaraderie, Stracke expressed that while there are challenges, her interactions with her fellow cast members are filled with fun, even when they may not always sit together. “We enjoy each other’s company, even if it sometimes feels like we have to navigate carefully around each other,” she concluded.
