Motocross Star Brian Deegan Endorses Chad Bianco for California Governor
Brian Deegan, a notable figure in extreme sports and business, is backing Republican Chad Bianco for governor of California. He expressed his belief that Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom has severely impacted the state’s potential. Deegan stated, “People used to come to California to start businesses and chase their dreams, and now people are leaving California to chase those same dreams.”
In a conversation with Fox News Digital, Deegan reflected on his feelings about California’s politicians, particularly Newsom. Describing himself as a pioneer in motocross and a champion in off-road racing, he conveyed a sense of urgency in supporting Bianco due to what he sees as damage done by the current administration.
He reminisced about moving to California to pursue his dreams in the action sports domain and mentioned that the opportunities he once saw have dwindled. Deegan elaborated on the negative effects of overregulation and specifically highlighted concerns about declining safety, saying, “A lot of places I’ve lived in California are really going in the wrong direction.” He expressed fear about letting his children play outside, citing lax law enforcement allowing crimes to go unpunished.
Moreover, he criticized Newsom’s management during the COVID-19 pandemic, recalling the severe lockdowns implemented. “Now we look back on it and we’re like, ‘Hey, what happened?’” he remarked, pointing out the perceived hypocrisy of Newsom enjoying a lavish lifestyle while others were in restrictions.
As Newsom contemplates his political future, including potential presidential aspirations, Deegan voiced skepticism about his chances. He remarked, “It’s time for a guy like Chad Bianco to take control of California.” He believes that those in power often fail to represent the average Californian, adding, “Too much damage has been done.” Deegan is hopeful for a leader who understands the law and values family.
In closing, he expressed a desire to see California return to its status as a land of opportunity, stating, “I feel like it’s become very narrow.” He thinks that many residents share this sentiment and seek to restore the state to what it once was. In response to Deegan’s criticism, a representative for Newsom simply remarked, “Who?”
