Roman Odunze’s Awaited Return Delayed
Roman Odunze won’t be making his much-anticipated return to the Bears just yet.
Prior to Sunday’s Week 15 matchup against the Browns, the Chicago receiver was officially ruled out after worsening a foot injury, according to reports from NFL Network.
The young wide receiver, who had missed the previous game where the Bears faced a loss against the Packers, was initially questionable but had been considered ready to play by Saturday, raising hopes among fans and teammates alike.
What triggered the sudden aggravation of his injury right before kickoff is still unclear.
This week, he’s had limited participation in practice as he continues to cope with ongoing foot and heel issues that have lingered since October.
Despite his absence, the Bears managed to dominate the first half, shutting out the Browns 14-0.
The team is looking to make a mark in the NFC playoff race, aiming for their first postseason appearance since 2020.
Currently, they’re in pursuit of the Packers, who hold a 9-3 record, vying for the top spot in the NFC North.
Odunze, drafted ninth overall in 2024, is currently in his second year with the team. So far this season, he has accumulated 44 receptions for a total of 661 yards and six touchdowns.
The Bears’ next challenge will be against the Packers on Saturday night.
