Discussion between Erika Kirk and Candace Owens
Erika Kirk, who lost her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, is set for a private meeting with Candace Owens, a prominent conservative figure known for pushing a conspiracy theory regarding Charlie’s assassination.
On Sunday, Erika shared on social media that both have decided to pause all public comments until after their discussion. This suggests a desire to resolve tensions that have been heightened due to ongoing conspiracy narratives.
This marks the first time they will meet in person after discussions around conspiracy theories intensified. Candace Owens, known for her role in media and as a former communications director at TPUSA, has described their previous relationship as akin to that of siblings.
“We were brother and sister,” Owens stated. “Our relationship grew stronger through the pressures of politics. I knew him, the real Charlie, and he knew me,” she added.
Initially, Owens expressed sorrow over Charlie’s passing. However, in the months since, she has frequently highlighted various conspiracy theories on her platform, including:
- Claims suggesting that Charlie’s death was connected to his changing views on US-Israel relations and pressure from donors.
- Allegations regarding possible “inside work” involving TPUSA personnel or military elements.
- Speculation about different scenarios surrounding the incident.
These assertions have faced backlash from other conservatives, including leaders at TPUSA and other media figures, who argue that Owens is leveraging this tragedy for profit.
Erika has urged Owens to cease these claims, expressing concerns that they could affect the ongoing murder trial and further distress his family.
Following Charlie’s tragic shooting while addressing students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, Owens utilized her platform to propose connections to foreign entities and insinuated that TPUSA might be involved in concealing the truth.
“There are lies being spread, and we need to correct them now,” Owens insisted during a broadcast, implying potential government misinformation regarding Charlie’s death.
In a recent interview, Erika was prompted to share her thoughts on Owens’ remarks about her late husband. Her response was straightforward.
“Stop. That’s all I have to say. Stop.”
Erika expressed her anger towards Owens for attacking her family, stating that it seemed Owens profited from these claims, which only added to her frustration.
