Lindsey Graham describes Australia as 'sadly weak' following the Hanukkah incident.

Senator Criticizes Australian Leadership After Sydney Attack

Senator Lindsey Graham has strongly criticized Australia’s Prime Minister following a recent terrorist attack during a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney, labeling the country’s leadership as “pathetically weak.” He expressed concern that this weakness has led to neglecting warnings from Israel regarding threats to the Jewish community.

In a broadcast on “Hannity,” Graham remarked, “Western Europe, and now Australia, is pathetically vulnerable to religious Nazis.” His comments came in the wake of a mass shooting at Bondi Beach that took place on the first night of Hanukkah, resulting in 16 deaths—including one of the shooters—and leaving many others injured.

The senator specifically called out Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for recognizing a Palestinian state after the October 7 terrorist attacks, stating that Israeli leaders had warned against this decision, which he believes endangers Jews in Australia.

“The Australian Prime Minister was told by the Israeli Prime Minister, ‘If we recognize a Palestinian state while it still governs Gaza and the West Bank after the Palestinian state has killed 1,200 Jews, we are putting Australian Jews at risk,'” Graham explained. He suggested that such political decisions are leading to the deaths of innocent Jews.

Furthermore, he noted that other countries that recognized a Palestinian state post-October 7 attacks similarly “provoked further terrorism.”

Graham expanded his criticism to U.S. foreign policy as well, claiming that the previous administration’s withdrawal from Iraq allowed ISIS to gain ground. He also criticized President Biden for not withdrawing from Afghanistan and for rejoining the Iran nuclear deal, which he stated enriched Iran.

In contrast, he praised former President Trump’s approach, emphasizing, “What Trump did is the right thing to do. Kill them over there and stop them from coming here.” He advocated for a strategy that includes expanding the Abraham Accords.

“I don’t want a forever war, but I can tell you this: They’re going to try to kill you forever,” Graham asserted. “And the way to prevent them from coming to us is to attack them over there and make allies instead of going it alone.” He remarked that the Australian model had failed its Jewish community and had disappointed its people.

Addressing the issue of gun control, Graham dismissed the notion that it played a significant role in preventing ISIS-linked attacks, accusing the Australian government of not taking necessary action against the group.

“You have allowed ISIS to come to your country and yet you have never once promised the Australian people that you will hunt down these cells and kill them all,” he stated, emphasizing the ongoing threat posed by extremist groups.

He concluded with a stark assertion about the seriousness of the conflict, describing it as “a fight for civilization itself” and advocating for a solution akin to the historical approach taken with Germany and Japan: “destroy them and build peace from their ashes.”
