Graham suggests increasing assaults on Iran

U.S. Attacks on Iran Considered by Senator Graham

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has brought up the possibility of more U.S. military actions against Iran, proposing that a significant but brief offensive aimed at undermining Iran’s military capabilities could be warranted.

On Monday, President Donald Trump made a statement on Truth Social, mentioning, “Iran has fired several shots at unrelated countries, including a South Korean cargo ship, in connection with the Project Freedom mission. Maybe it’s time for South Korea to join the mission! We managed to intercept seven small boats, or ‘fast’ boats, as they’re nicknamed. That’s about all they’re left with. So far, only South Korean vessels have faced harm in the strait.”

After sharing a screenshot of Trump’s post, Graham expressed his agreement on X, asserting, “That’s right, Mr. President. Iranian attacks on vital infrastructure in the UAE and ongoing strikes on international shipping, including South Korean cargo vessels, clearly justify a significant, forceful, and short-term action to further degrade Iran’s war machine.”

Graham emphasized the UAE’s role as an essential ally, stating that a robust response would reinforce America’s reliability as an ally, an image he believes has been tarnished by the Biden administration. He noted, “The UAE has been a champion ally, exceeding expectations in this struggle.”

Moreover, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Brad Cooper mentioned on Monday the elimination of six small Iranian boats by helicopters that morning.

In a contrasting statement, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi indicated that recent developments in Hormuz show that there’s no military solution to the political crisis. He emphasized the importance of cautious diplomacy, particularly concerning U.S. involvement.

On another note, the national average for regular gasoline has risen to $4.483 as of Tuesday, which Graham acknowledged during his appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity.” He remarked, “To my fellow Americans: I understand that gas prices are soaring, and it’s tough right now, but for aggressors like Iran, it’s pay now or pay later—they’re going to acquire nuclear weapons. If anyone doubts that, maybe they shouldn’t be behind the wheel in their own country.”

Graham is also making a push for re-election this year, having received Trump’s endorsement for his campaign last year.
