Harris Avoids 2028 Discussion in Recent Interview
In a recently published interview, former Vice President Kamala Harris sidestepped inquiries about her intentions for 2028, stating that no decisions have been made yet, despite speculation about another run for office.
During a conversation on Jamie Harrison’s podcast, At Our Table, he asked her whether she had considered 2028 and if she felt any unfinished business. Harris simply replied, “No decisions have been made on that.”
Axios indicated that Harris is “on track” to pursue a run in 2028, referencing her recent involvement with the Democratic National Committee and plans to extend her book tour.
In her comments at the DNC, Harris shared criticisms of both political parties. She emphasized the need for Democrats to focus on future visions, particularly after the midterm elections and following President Trump’s tenure. “We need to answer the question: What’s next for our party and our democracy?” she stated.
Harris highlighted that “both parties have failed to maintain the trust of the people,” noting a growing public desire for change and a break from the status quo.
Harrison remarked during the podcast that he believes any decision Harris makes will receive significant support from the public. “Whatever decision you make, there are millions who will back you. There’s so much love for you, as shown on your book tour, which is selling out,” he said.
California Governor Gavin Newsom and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker were also present at the recent DNC annual winter meeting in Los Angeles.
Harris expressed her views on the current state of the Democratic Party, suggesting it feels “stuck in the past.”
