Erica Kirk Reflects on Faith After Husband’s Tragic Death
Erica Kirk, the widow of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk, shared insights about her evolving relationship with God following her husband’s tragic assassination in September during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” with Shannon Bream.
When Bream inquired about her conversations with God in the months after her loss, Erica responded, “Frankly, they’re both similar. I’ve never wondered, ‘Why me?’ I always knew that my life wasn’t just for me. We are here for a greater purpose, and Charlie and I both understood that.”
She emphasized their shared faith in God and the greater mission that Charlie pursued throughout his life. “Like I said, I talk to God the same way: ‘God, use me, God, heal my heart. You know my pain, you know the depth of my pain. Please walk through this with me. Please heal me and put people in my path that will guide me and help guide me and keep me in alignment with your will,'” she explained.
After Charlie’s death, Erica was appointed CEO of TPUSA. She stated that her only guide moving forward would be “God’s will.” She clarified, “I don’t want anything other than God’s will. I don’t want anything, not even a 10-foot pole will touch anything other than the jet stream of God’s will.”
Despite the immense loss, the faith-based arm of the organization, TPUSA Faith, witnessed remarkable growth. In October, they announced that their church network had doubled, adding over 200,000 new members, marking one of the largest expansions in the organization’s history.
Erica Kirk’s complete interview with Bream will air on Sunday morning on local FOX stations and again at 2 p.m. ET on the FOX News Channel.
