Republicans seek explanations from Walz following viral video revealing supposed daycare fraud

On social media, politicians expressed their criticism of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz after a video surfaced that raised concerns about a Minneapolis child care center. This center, allegedly, received millions in state funds while showing minimal activity.

Vance remarked, “What is happening in Minnesota is the epitome of immigration fraud in our system. Politicians like it because it gives them power. Welfare fraudsters benefit financially. Yet, it’s a zero-sum game; they’re essentially robbing both money and political influence from Minnesotans.”

In a strong letter, a former Trump cabinet member called for Walz’s resignation, denouncing the scandal. Representative Mike Lawler, a Republican from New York, also urged accountability for Walz, asserting, “People need to be arrested and charged, and the Governor of Minnesota needs to be held accountable.” He suggested that Congress should immediately conduct hearings to investigate further.

The controversy escalated after independent journalist Nick Shirley posted a 42-minute video showing visits to child care facilities around Minneapolis, including one that displayed a misspelled sign reading “Quality Learning Center.” No activity was evident at the site, which reportedly claimed to cater to 99 children but had received around $4 million in state funding.

Amid the outcry, several public figures commented on the video. Donald Trump Jr. encouraged others to watch it, stating that it represented what journalism should be, although he lamented the lack of coverage in mainstream media. Elon Musk echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that the “radical left” is manipulating government programs to benefit their political agendas and bolster immigration control, claiming this undermines democracy.

The video’s circulation came as the Walz administration faced multiple scandals, including claims of over $1 billion in losses related to social welfare fraud in the Twin Cities, particularly tied to the Somali community. Some of these funds have reportedly been funneled into the hands of the Somali terrorist group al-Shabab.

As of now, neither Lawler nor Walz has responded to inquiries for further comments.
