Ex-reality TV participant arrested for sexual offenses involving children and animals

A man known for his role in a reality show is currently incarcerated in Ohio. He faces serious allegations including a felony sex crime involving a minor and animal abuse.

Tony McCollister, who appeared in A&E’s short-lived series Neighbors with Benefits, was arrested in Warren County for soliciting a minor and for engaging in sexual acts with animals, according to local law enforcement.

Prosecutors have stated that McCollister uploaded materials related to child sexual abuse to his Google account and also allegedly participated in inappropriate acts with his two dogs, as mentioned in court documents.

He was arraigned recently and is currently held on a $250,000 bond.

McCollister is scheduled to return to court on December 30, but reports indicate that he hasn’t yet entered a plea.

This incident has drawn renewed attention to “Neighbors with Benefits,” a show that portrayed a couple practicing swinging within their traditional family life in suburban Ohio. The series premiered on March 22, 2015, but was swiftly canceled after just two episodes due to public backlash.

A&E opted not to air the remaining episodes, despite having filmed several already.

Initially, McCollister and the other cast members claimed their aim was to break stereotypes surrounding non-monogamy, suggesting that swingers are just like any regular family. However, these claims contrast sharply with the serious allegations he now faces.

During the investigation, authorities uncovered information related to McCollister’s online activities, but they have not revealed the specifics about how the inquiry started or when the alleged incidents took place.

McCollister’s mug shot presents a stark contrast to the polished images viewers saw on television, reflecting a troubling turn in his life.

The charges against him are felonies under Ohio law and could lead to considerable prison time if he is convicted.

As the investigation continues, it remains unclear whether additional charges will be filed. McCollister is still in custody as the case unfolds, and no statements have been provided by his representatives.
