George Soros’ Support for Letitia James
Far-left billionaire George Soros and his family have contributed over $71,000 to New York Attorney General Letitia James’ campaign since 2019. This includes a significant $31,000 donation aimed at supporting her re-election in the upcoming year, according to a report by the New York Post.
The report, referencing Election Commission records, detailed a $18,000 contribution from Soros in July 2024, along with an additional $13,000 from his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Soros, in May. The total also includes $40,000 that the family donated to James over previous campaigns dating back to 2019.
These figures don’t even account for the indirect support James receives via left-leaning organizations funded by Soros. For instance, the New York Post noted that Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) contributed $23.7 million to the Working Families Party since 2016, alongside an additional $865,000 in direct donations to the New York branch since 2018.
James first entered the political scene in 2003 when she was elected to the City Council, becoming the first candidate from the Working Families Party to win a state election, representing Brooklyn. Michael Henry, a Republican running against her in 2026, criticized Soros for funding radical left projects, suggesting they lead to instability and disorder in the country. He expressed that such financial backing impacts the safety of New Yorkers.
James has gained attention for filing multiple lawsuits against the Trump administration, including one focused on the allegation that Trump and his family inflated their net worth on loan applications. Although a state appeals board dismissed over $500 million in fines initially ordered in this case, the lawsuit is still active.
Interestingly, James is currently facing scrutiny from the Department of Justice for allegedly providing inaccurate information on a mortgage application in Virginia. Though she entered a not guilty plea for fraud charges in October, a judge dismissed the case due to the alleged illegality of the prosecutor’s appointment, and attempts to re-indict her have been unsuccessful.
Trump has voiced strong opinions about both Soros and his son, Alex, who leads OSF. He has made claims about Soros being connected with various social movements and advocated for indictments against those he alleges are linked to chaos in America. He expressed his determination to prevent such influences from disrupting the nation.
Furthermore, a recent New York Times report indicates that the Department of Justice has instructed prosecutors to explore Soros’ activities to ascertain whether they warrant a criminal case. OSF has previously refuted any association with violence or illegal activities.
