Billy Bob Thornton’s Bold Scene in “The Landman” Stuns Viewers
Billy Bob Thornton surprised fans with a full-frontal nude scene in the latest episode of “The Landman,” which aired on Sunday night. In a rather unexpected moment, his character Tommy ends up exposing himself to a hotel waitress when she brings him breakfast. Upon seeing him shirtless, she screamed, “Don’t rape me!”
Thornton’s immediate response was, “Who are you? I’m not going to rape you.” The scene took a humorous turn as his on-screen wife, played by Ali Larter, chimed in with, “Leave your husband alone.” She reassured the waitress, saying, “Don’t be scared, darling. It’s not about you. He eats Cialis like M&Ms and hits the door frame with it all morning.” Well, that’s quite a revelation, isn’t it?
Larter teased Thornton, saying, “I was going to surprise you with breakfast in bed… not the best angle of your B–s-, I might add. I’ll scream too.” The dialogue poked fun at the unexpected situation, with Larter stating, “You really have to love a man to look at him from up there.” She even added, “Unfortunately, even if she wasn’t a lesbian when she got here, she’s a damn lesbian now.”
Fans reacted in various ways on social media following the episode’s airing. One viewer questioned, “Why is Billy Bob Thornton pitching a tent on my TV screen?” while another remarked, “How many plot ideas do you need to run out of to show a D—-?”
Some viewers shared their own experiences, mentioning how they were contemplating working in a hotel but had changed their minds after witnessing the scene.
Yet, many fans found the moment hilarious. One tweeted, “The first opening scene of the new episode of #landman was priceless. Too funny!” Another shared, “I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I actually love Angela. I love Tommy and Angela’s relationship. I’m sorry.” Someone even exclaimed, “#landman season 2 episode 7 is the best television I’ve ever seen in my life. That’s what I’m calling it now.”
“The Landman,” created by Taylor Sheridan, is based on the podcast “Boomtown,” focusing on the oil boom in the Permian Basin during the early 2010s and the advances in oil drilling technology that triggered it. Thornton’s character, Tommy Norris, is a crisis manager for an oil company called M-Tex.
The show also features stars like Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Jacob Lofland, and Michelle Randolph, making it quite the engaging ensemble.
