A 64-year-old woman, previously married to Jill Biden’s ex-husband, was found deceased in her Delaware home late Sunday night following a domestic dispute call. Reports indicate that Linda Stevenson was discovered unresponsive on her living room floor by officers who arrived around 11:15 p.m. at the Oak Hill residence she shared with her husband, Bill, who was married to Jill from 1970 to 1975.
Despite the efforts of law enforcement to revive her, she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FOX29.
Stevenson’s daughter, Christina Vettori, mentioned, “This is still a homicide investigation” but, seemingly overwhelmed, added, “I don’t want to talk about it at this point.”
While police have denied any homicide investigation claims, they are treating the incident as a “death investigation.”
As reported by the newspaper, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division were dispatched to look into the case. Interestingly, a 911 dispatch recording referred to “cardiac arrest.” So far, no charges have been filed related to Stevenson’s death.
Her body has been sent to the Delaware Division of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, which will clarify the cause of death, as stated by police. The New Castle County Police have not yet responded to requests for comments.
Jill Biden was married to her ex-husband for five years before separating in 1974 and officially divorcing a year later. Two years after that, she married Joe Biden. Stevenson previously alleged that the Democratic Party had an affair with his ex-wife before he left the party.
Bill Stevenson has claimed that he and his ex-wife became friends with Joe Biden during his first Senate campaign in 1972. That year was marked by tragedy for Joe, as his first wife, Neilia, and their young daughter passed away in a car accident.
Bill suspected an affair as early as 1974, although the Bidens, who wed in 1977, have publicly stated they met on a blind date in 1975, after both Jill’s first marriage and Joe’s widowhood.
