Mother Wins £1 Million Prize, Changes Plans After Work
A mother’s quiet evening took a surprising turn just before the new year of 2026. Nikita Muse, 35, became a millionaire after winning Omaze’s monthly Millionaire Draw, taking home a tax-free £1 million, which is around $1.34 million in U.S. dollars.
Muse, who works as a finance manager at a golf course, had been entering the competition for several years. She received a call while finishing her shift, which she initially found hard to believe. It wasn’t until a representative arrived at her home that she accepted the reality of her win.
She had planned to go out for drinks that evening but quickly decided to celebrate her big news instead. Muse humorously mentioned to her friend that next time they meet, “I’ll pay for the drinks.”
Once the initial shock wore off, she reflected on how this win would enhance their New Year’s celebrations. “This is going to be a great New Year’s Eve for us,” she said, realizing that her children’s future now seemed much more secure.
Though she admitted she wasn’t a big drinker, Muse still opened a bottle of champagne to mark the occasion at home. She and her husband have four kids, and she expressed that the prize would relieve financial stress and provide them with new opportunities.
“You never think it will actually happen, but that money is in my account now,” Muse shared.
The couple has plans to pay off their mortgage, buy a new car, and enjoy some family vacations, with trips to New York and Disney World potentially in the works. Muse has been entering Omaze draws for nearly five years, motivated by the chance to improve her family’s future and the charitable work it supports.
Reflecting on the moment she learned about her win, Muse said, “It was a really crazy moment. You’d never think it would actually happen, but that money is now in my account. I’ll never forget seeing so many zeros!”
She added, “We’ll be able to treat the kids. I mean, if we can’t treat them after winning a million, when can we?” The family looks forward to creating wonderful memories together, a sentiment Muse holds dear.
