Franklin Graham Links Increasing Church Attendance to Young People Who Oppose 'Anti-God Socialism'

Franklin Graham Highlights Young Americans Turning to Church

Evangelist Franklin Graham observed a trend among younger Americans, suggesting a growing rejection of “anti-God socialism,” coinciding with an increase in church attendance.

During a recent Fox News appearance, Graham—who leads Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association—discussed data indicating that Gen Z and Millennials attend church more frequently than older generations.

“I think Gen Z and Millennials have been influenced by the misleading ideas of socialism. It’s fundamentally against God,” he stated. “This might be causing confusion for them, leading them to think, ‘There must be something more out there.’

According to a report by Barna Group, members of Gen Z attend services an average of 1.9 times per month, while Millennials average 1.8 times. In contrast, older age groups, such as Baby Boomers and Gen X, show lower attendance, averaging 1.4 and 1.6 times a month, respectively.

“This uptick in church attendance among younger individuals is linked to socialism,” he claimed.

Graham pointed to rising Bible sales as another factor contributing to increased church engagement among Gen Z, alongside the recent assassination of conservative Christian activist Charlie Kirk.

“The person accused of killing him mentioned that too many people were listening to Charlie and wanted to put a stop to his voice,” Graham remarked. “I think this generation has an even greater hunger for truth now. Charlie’s memorial attracted a massive crowd, and it was viewed by millions.”

“There’s a desire for the truth, and that’s crucial. Charlie was sharing the truth,” he continued. “They’ve heard so many lies from professors and educational leaders. I believe they are looking for something real.”
