Jill Biden's ex-husband's wife discovered deceased in Wilmington residence following a call about a domestic argument

Officers investigating a domestic dispute in Wilmington, Delaware, discovered a woman deceased in the residence of Bill Stevenson, the ex-husband of Jill Biden, on Sunday night.

As reported by the New Castle County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement received the call and arrived around 11:16 p.m. They found Linda Stevenson, 64, unresponsive in the living room. Despite attempts at resuscitation, she was later pronounced dead.

Detectives from the NCCPD’s Criminal Investigation Division were called in to manage the case. The body was sent to the Delaware Department of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy to establish the cause of death.

Christina Vettori, the deceased’s daughter, implied that the death might be investigated as a homicide when she spoke to the media. However, the New Castle County Sheriff’s Office clarified, stating, “No, this is a death investigation.”

As of now, no charges have been filed.

Bill Stevenson is known for founding the Stone Balloon bar near the University of Delaware. He and Jill Biden were married in February 1970 but divorced in 1975, just two years before she married Joe Biden.

In a past interview, Jill Biden biographer Julie Pace noted that Jill had certain expectations for her marriage, but those expectations were not met.

Stevenson commented that, despite the divorce, he held no bitterness, saying, “If I hadn’t gotten divorced, I never would have met my wife Linda. She is the greatest person in my life.”

Interestingly, TMZ mentioned that Stevenson had called the police regarding the domestic dispute and was present when his wife was pronounced dead.

Efforts to reach Joe Biden and Jill Biden for comments did not receive a response.
