Gangster Sentenced for Brutal Crimes

A 23-year-old Mexican gangster, notorious for heart-cutting rituals, has been sentenced to 50 years in prison. Michelle Angelica Pineda, known by the alias “La Cherie,” faced a judge in Chihuahua, Mexico, on Friday, according to an announcement from the FBI.

The FBI described her as someone who showed extreme brutality, engaging in horrific acts like dismembering bodies and placing the victims’ hearts before altars dedicated to Santa Muerte, the pagan god of death.

Pineda’s violent activities first came to light when she was arrested at the age of 22 in early 2024 at a motel in El Paso, following an investigation by the FBI and Customs and Border Protection. Reports indicate that she entered the U.S. illegally and had established a significant drug trafficking operation along the border, associated with the Altitas Asessinos, a group that also collaborates with the notorious Sinaloa Cartel.

Upon her arrest, law enforcement discovered an extensive cache of weapons, knives, and various drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine. She was already wanted in Mexico for five murders, including a double homicide in 2023 and a ghastly murder in which a dismembered body was found in Juarez in 2024.

For her role in these crimes, Pineda and four accomplices received identical sentences of 50 years. FBI El Paso Special Agent Jarrod Brown emphasized the importance of collaboration among various law enforcement agencies to keep individuals like Pineda from spreading violence and drugs into communities across the United States.
