Variety of Nonsense: Gregg Jarrett Discusses How Democrats' Lawsuits Against Trump 'For Everything' Ultimately Failed

Democrats’ Legal Strategy Backfires for Trump

On Wednesday, legal analyst Greg Jarrett highlighted a significant advantage that Democrats have inadvertently given President Donald Trump by dragging him into numerous court battles over his actions. This barrage of lawsuits has backfired, leading to the Trump administration facing hundreds of legal challenges from Democratic factions and their allies.

During his appearance on “Evening Edit,” Jarrett remarked that rather than hindering Trump’s policies, the legal defeats for Democrats actually expanded the president’s powers. He expressed frustration, labeling the strategy as foolish, noting that Democrats filed lawsuits against Trump more than 530 times within just 11 months—a staggering number by any standard. Most importantly, he pointed out that when these cases reached the U.S. Supreme Court, Trump emerged victorious a remarkable 90% of the time.

Jarrett emphasized that the relentless legal assaults have not only failed but have shifted the balance of power favorably for Trump. He noted that one of Trump’s key victories included the lifting of a nationwide injunction meant to block his policies, neutralizing opposition from district court judges.

Additionally, Jarrett pointed out other significant wins for Trump concerning immigration policies, transgender rights, and the ability to fire government officials. He claims Trump has amassed at least 21 victories in the Supreme Court and suggests that more victories could be on the horizon due to the miscalculation by Democrats in challenging his authority.

As the year wraps up, the Trump administration boasts an impressive Supreme Court record. Court data indicates the administration successfully won around 20 emergency appeals in 2025, with only a few setbacks. This success allowed policies that limit changes to passports based on gender identity and advance restrictions on transgender individuals in the military.

Furthermore, the justices have enabled Trump to dismiss federal employees and remove Democratic appointees from independent boards. Immigration authorities also gained from new rulings that authorize expulsions from third nations and the termination of temporary protected status for Venezuelans, among other measures that impact numerous immigrants.
