Trump reveals 'excellent health' and emphasizes success in third cognitive test

Trump Claims ‘Perfect’ Health Following CT Scan

President Donald Trump has declared that he is in “perfect” health, sharing details about a recent visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he underwent a CT scan instead of an MRI during a “secondary” checkup.

Taking to Truth Social on Friday, Trump stated that not only is he in “perfect health,” but he also “passed” the cognitive portion of his examination three consecutive times.

“White House doctors have reported that I am in ‘perfect health’ and have ‘passed’ (i.e., answered 100% of the questions correctly!) three consecutive cognitive tests that no other president or former vice president wanted to take,” Trump mentioned. He also added, “I believe anyone running for president or vice president should be required to pass a significant cognitive test. Our great country shouldn’t be led by ‘stupid’ or incompetent individuals!”

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the 79-year-old noted it was “unfortunate” that he underwent cardiovascular and abdominal imaging tests, suggesting that there was “little benefit” from them.

When the topic of the MRI scan arose, he clarified that what he had in October was “not an MRI.” He summarized, “It was less than that. That was a scan.”

Trump, who celebrated his 80th birthday in June and is the oldest president in office, claimed the results of the CT scan were “perfect.”

According to a memo from the president’s physician, Sean Barbavera, such tests are important for men of Trump’s age to evaluate cardiovascular and abdominal health. He emphasized that this examination was the standard for someone in Trump’s position.

Barbabella explained, “As part of the test, we asked the President if he would like to undergo advanced imaging, either an MRI or a CT scan, to rule out any cardiovascular issues. He agreed, and we conducted a CT scan. The results showed no abnormalities.”

Barbabella added that Trump exhibited “excellent metabolic health” and indicated that his cardiovascular health was “14 years younger than his age.”

This announcement surfaced amid inquiries about various health issues Trump has faced, including a swollen ankle and bruises on his hands that were concealed with makeup. The White House attributed these issues to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition where damaged veins have trouble sending blood back to the heart.

During the interview, it was mentioned that doctors advised Trump to reduce his regular aspirin intake for cardiac protection due to his bruising and chronic superficial venous insufficiency. However, Trump continues to take about 325 milligrams of aspirin instead of the typical 81 milligrams, admitting, “I’m a little superstitious.”

“I use the big one, and I’ve been doing it for years, and it actually bruises me,” Trump explained.

Concerns regarding the president’s age and health intensified following an incident with former President Joe Biden. After a notably poor debate performance against Trump in the 2024 campaign, Biden’s cognitive capabilities came under scrutiny, leading to his resignation from the race.

White House press secretary Caroline Levitt remarked that Trump has “nothing to hide,” describing him as “the most transparent and open president in history” in contrast to Biden, who she accused of avoiding the press and misrepresenting his physical and mental condition.
