Joe Rogan Defends Kamala Harris After Comments Made on His Podcast

On Wednesday, Joe Rogan came to the defense of former Vice President Kamala Harris after a guest on his podcast implied she wouldn’t fare well during a lengthy interview. This conversation took place during an episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” recorded on December 31, where he and Australian comedian James McCann discussed Donald Trump’s earlier appearance on the show.

McCann expressed admiration for Trump’s stamina, noting he could handle the three-hour podcast without breaks or pre-prepared questions. He then suggested that Harris would likely struggle with the same format. “He could talk for three hours, whereas Kamala wouldn’t do that,” McCann stated.

To this, Rogan responded, “Well, she could have done it. I’m telling you, dude,” reinforcing the idea that perhaps Harris could navigate such an interview.

McCann mentioned Harris’s appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” back in August, but Rogan countered by saying that live TV interviews don’t allow for the depth of conversation found in longer formats. “If you’re going to have a really important conversation with someone, you don’t want to do it in front of a small audience,” he remarked. “Plus, you only get about seven minutes before they cut to commercials.”

Rogan expressed frustration at the limitations of conventional media interviews, saying it takes him a significant amount of time—seven minutes, to be exact—to even get to the heart of a simple question. He suggested that a deeper discussion with Harris could lead to exploring more substantial topics, such as her regrets or how political funding influences decision-making.

Rogan claimed that discussions about campaign strategy could benefit from this kind of open dialogue. He recalled that there were conversations regarding having Harris on his podcast, but it ultimately fell through. “They just got scared,” he noted, emphasizing that hosting her wouldn’t have been a hostile experience.

In contrast, the Harris campaign has reportedly contested Rogan’s portrayal of events, asserting that his team set challenging conditions for the interview.

Logan remained adamant that the blame lies with Harris’s team, insisting he would have approached the interview without hostility. “I’m not going to turn this into a viral clip thing… why would I do that to someone else?” he reflected.

It’s widely perceived that long-form conversations on platforms like Rogan’s have played a significant role in shaping public opinion and influencing election outcomes, particularly for Trump.
