Joe Rogan Defends Kamala Harris Amid Podcast Debate

Joe Rogan stood up for former Vice President Kamala Harris when a guest raised doubts about her ability to handle a three-hour podcast, similar to President Trump’s lengthy appearance before the 2024 election.

During an October 2024 episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” comedian James McCann praised Trump’s performance, but Rogan pushed back against the idea that Harris wouldn’t have been up for the challenge. McCann remarked, “Kamala didn’t do that, but he could talk for three hours,” during the discussion.

McCann, who has expressed support for Trump, claimed that Harris would have been fine if given the chance. “Well, she could have done it — she could have done it,” Rogan stated, trying to convey his belief that she would have managed just as well.

Yet, McCann pointed out that Harris struggled to complete a six-minute segment on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” earlier that August, suggesting a longer format would be difficult for her.

Rogan defended Harris by indicating that late-night shows have limitations due to time constraints, commercial interruptions, and audience pressure. “If you’re going to have a really important conversation with someone, you don’t want to do it with a large audience,” he commented.

He also highlighted the challenge of managing a short time frame, saying, “We only have seven minutes before we have to cut commercials or whatever. It takes seven minutes just to ask her what her favorite dish is.”

Logan—who is not associated with Rogan—shared a list of questions he would have liked to ask Harris, suggesting their conversation could have lasted for hours. However, Harris never appeared on Rogan’s podcast, and both have offered different reasons for the lack of an interview.

Rogan has claimed that he extended an “open opportunity” to Harris but was met with conditions from her team, including limits on interview lengths and stipulations about who could be present. He also noted her camp insisted on him traveling to her instead of recording in Texas.

In a book published last year, former aides to Harris mentioned that they were told a date was set, but Rogan canceled due to a “personal day” that coincidentally aligned with his meeting with Trump. Rogan denies any wrongdoing and insists he has been transparent with Harris’s team. He emphasized that arranging Trump’s interview was straightforward, devoid of constraints—“Trump had it so easy,” he pointed out in a February discussion.

Ultimately, the difference in experiences between booking Trump and Harris paints a complex picture of communication and expectations between the parties involved.
