Kayla Beshear Opens Up About Loss on TikTok

In a heartfelt TikTok video, Kayla Beshear, the wife of Dodgers pitcher Alex Beshear, revealed her daily struggles following the loss of their newborn daughter in October.

It had been a while since her last post about Sterling Sol Beshear’s death, but in this video, she expressed her uncertainty about the direction of her social media content. Nevertheless, she felt compelled to thank everyone for their support. “I wanted to come here and say thank you,” she stated, recognizing the comfort their community has provided.

“Every day is so different for us right now,” Kayla shared, noting the emotional turmoil they face. “We’re so grateful for your community and for all the support and love you’ve shown us. It’s really brought us so much comfort during this time.”

Alex, 29, departed from the Dodgers during the World Series, citing “extremely personal issues.” Later, Kayla disclosed that their daughter had passed away shortly after the series concluded, on October 26. She conveyed, “There are no words to describe the pain we are experiencing, but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every moment we spent with her.”

During the World Series, Blue Jays relievers honored Alex by donning caps with his jersey number, 51, which was noted positively by Dodgers utility player Quique Hernandez.

Kayla mentioned in her TikTok that she had drafts saved where she intended to share different aspects of her journey. “While I was prepared for a lot, I wasn’t prepared for not being able to take my baby home,” she admitted.

Through tears, Kayla expressed her desire to share her experiences. “I don’t know how much I’ll be able to share or the specifics, but I feel it’s important to talk about it. If it can help someone else who’s experiencing something similar, I want them to feel like they’re not alone.”

In her video, she emphasized that she wouldn’t come online just to cry, as that doesn’t seem beneficial for anyone. Instead, she sees this as a valuable outlet for both her and Alex, apart from their conversations with therapists. “If this can help someone going through the same thing, that’s great,” she reflected.

Alex has spent the last five seasons with the Dodgers, and the couple tied the knot in January 2024.
