Trump’s Absence at Climate Summit Sparks Debate

When President Trump decided to skip the United Nations Climate Change Summit, some Americans who oppose mainstream climate narratives felt relieved. They thought, perhaps, his absence could weaken the globalist agenda surrounding climate policies.

However, there are concerns now that his absence may have backfired as global leaders seem to have seized the moment to advocate for stringent weather policies in his stead. Journalist Alex Newman discussed this with Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck, pointing out that for the first time in three decades, there was no U.S. delegation at the event. The State Department confirmed that they intentionally chose not to send representatives.

“A lot of Americans saw this as a good thing,” Newman noted, “But it turned out, some globalists at the conference regarded it as an opportunity. They thought, ‘The U.S. is part of the UN climate framework, yet they’re not here to oppose our plans.’”

He elaborated that the agreement made during the summit included discussions about a “carbon budget,” with claims that a large majority of allowable carbon emissions have already occurred. Newman added, “Their strategy seems to be, keeping quiet while Trump is around. They know he doesn’t support them, and that the public is skeptical of their claims.”

Beck questioned whether not attending was, in hindsight, a mistake. Newman hesitated in his answer, saying, “I’m not sure. Some at the summit saw it as a chance, but Trump’s term isn’t over.” He mentioned conversations with people at the EPA and State Department revealing that they’re contemplating withdrawing from the UN climate framework.

“It makes sense,” Beck interjected. “Before he took office, Trump aimed to tackle the so-called climate hysteria once and for all,” Newman remarked, emphasizing the seriousness of Trump’s attitude towards the issue.
