Amy Schumer Files for Divorce
Amy Schumer filed for divorce in New York on Tuesday, as confirmed by Fox News Digital. The actress, 44, announced her decision to part ways with husband Chris Fischer last month, marking the end of their seven-year marriage.
This week, the “slightly pregnant” actress shared a positive start to the year on Instagram, posting several bikini photos and declaring 2026 to be about “self-care and self-love.”
In her December announcement, Schumer described it as a “difficult decision,” emphasizing their strong bond and commitment to raising their son. She requested privacy during this time.
Interestingly, she made it clear that their separation wasn’t a result of any idea that they could “lose some weight and try harder.” Schumer characterized the breakup as “amicable and with love and respect,” adding a note about family bonds enduring.
Schumer and Fischer initially started dating in late 2017, tying the knot in February 2018. They welcomed their son Gene in May 2019.
Representatives for Schumer have yet to respond to requests for additional comments.
